Web application development FAQ

What is the difference between an MVP and a full web application?

An MVP is the smallest version that validates the business thesis; a full web application is the production system your customers rely on daily. Web app engagements assume the product-market fit question is answered and the work is about scale, reliability, integrations, and polish. Many clients graduate from our MVP track into longer web app engagements.

Which frameworks and languages do you use?

Primary stack is React, Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js, and PostgreSQL. We also work regularly with Python (FastAPI/Django), GraphQL, Prisma, and Redis. For infrastructure we default to Vercel and AWS. We pick stacks for long-term maintainability, not novelty.

Can you take over an existing codebase?

Yes. About a third of our web app engagements are takeovers. We start with a codebase audit — architecture review, dependency and security scan, test coverage, CI/CD assessment — then propose a 30/60/90-day plan that balances new feature work against paying down debt you have inherited.

Do you handle infrastructure, DevOps, and CI/CD?

Yes, these are part of every engagement. We set up (or take over) Vercel or AWS deployments, GitHub Actions or equivalent CI, preview environments, automated testing, monitoring, and on-call rotations if needed. You do not need a separate DevOps contractor.

How do you handle security and compliance?

Security reviews are built into our sprints — dependency scanning, authentication/authorization audits, data encryption, and access controls. For regulated industries we can help meet SOC 2, HIPAA, or GDPR requirements, though we partner with compliance auditors for the formal attestation work.
